Anthony ‘Tony’ DeFrancesco

Biography

For over 30 years, Director DeFrancesco has been a noteworthy leader in the Veterans resource space, serving the VA Long Beach Healthcare System, retiring as Associate Director and Chief Operating Officer in 2014. Driven by his heart to give, he takes pride in repaying Veterans for their service by identifying, creating, and providing the best resources available.

His responsibilities as Chief Liaison and Executive Director include developing and collaborating with community and campus partners on Veteran programming, and building and maintaining relationships with on and off-campus organizations to promote and implement UCLA’s Veteran initiatives. His goals include ensuring Veterans feel supported in the community and that UCLA’s partnership and programs with the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration remain successful.

In addition to his primary job functions, Director DeFrancesco is also passionate about travel, gardening, and good wine.
